Our organization works closely with the public sector to help ensure that all Canadians are aware of our important programs and services. In addition to the long-standing support we receive from the Government of Canada (through Public Safety Canada), we work very closely with a number of provincial governments to better protect children.
Take a look at what we are doing
in provinces across Canada:
In 2012, our organization was asked to participate as a member on the province’s Internet Child Exploitation Working Group.
The Government of Nova Scotia’s Department of Education mandated all schools in the province to adopt the Kids in the Know program and the Self/Peer Exploitation guide for schools.
Since 2001, the Province of Manitoba has provided financial support to our Cybertip.ca program. The government also supported the distribution of Commit to Kids, Teatree Tells Child Abuse Prevention Kit and the Self/Peer Exploitation guide for schools. Cybertip.ca is a designated reporting entity under provincial mandatory reporting of child pornography legislation.
Since 2005, our organization has worked closely with Public Safety Quebec on initiatives addressing the online sexual exploitation of children and public awareness campaigns. Our organization also works closely with the Sûreté du Québec on a number of public awareness and school outreach initiatives.
Our organization works closely with the members of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet.
Our organization works with the regional Child and Family Service Authorities under the Ministry of Children’s Services on educational initiatives such as the Commit to Kids program.
In 2014, the Government of New Brunswick signed a Memorandum of Understanding with our organization on cooperation aimed at preventing and reducing child victimization in the province of New Brunswick.
In 2013, the Government of Yukon signed a Memorandum of Understanding with our organization to work on the implementation of various programs and the execution of public awareness activities.
