Safer Internet Day

February 7th, 2012

Safer Internet Day is held each year on the first Tuesday in February to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially among children and young people.

This Safer Internet Day, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection encourages parents, educators and anyone else with children in their lives to set time aside to learn more about the risks associated with today’s technology and to teach their children how to stay safe. Visit our one-stop Internet safety website – The Door that’s not Locked (thedoorthatsnotlocked.ca) - where you'll find a variety of resources, tools and age-specific safety strategies that will help you keep your child safer while they're exploring and enjoying the online world. From learning what online activities are popular and how your child uses them, to discovering ways to talk to your child about healthy versus unhealthy relationships, this website will give you the important information you need.
