Cybertip.ca is Canada's tipline for reporting the online sexual exploitation of children. It accepts and addresses online and telephone reports from the public regarding:

  • Child abuse images
  • Online luring
  • Child exploitation through prostitution
  • Travelling to sexually exploit children
  • Child trafficking
General Public: Report Here Do you provide an Internet Service? Report Here

The tipline has been in operation since September 26, 2002 and was adopted under the Government of Canada's National Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Exploitation on the Internet in May 2004.

When Bill C-22, An Act respecting the mandatory reporting of Internet child pornography by persons who provide an Internet service, came into force on December 8, 2011, Cybertip.ca was named the designated reporting entity under section 2. This federal legislation requires all persons who provide an Internet service to report any incident of Internet child pornography.

On average, Cybertip.ca receives over 700 reports per month and 9,000 downloads of educational material. All reports that are in contravention of the Criminal Code (Canada) are sent to police for possible investigation. Since the inception of Cybertip.ca, our efforts have played a role in the removal of numerous children from abusive environments. Over 75 arrests have been made in connection with Cybertip.ca reports.
